The Claude Pepper Foundation carries on the ideas, values, public policy goals and life of Senator Claude Pepper to ensure that they are a continuing part of contemporary American political and social discourse. The mission of the Pepper Foundation is based upon the principles by which Senator Pepper lived. He devoted his life to reducing poverty, injustice, oppression, and every other source of degradation to which human beings are subject. He consistently promoted policies and programs to improve health, provide economic opportunity, and contribute to the social justice of all Americans, with a special emphasis on the betterment of life for the elderly. Federal and state lawmakers are provided information about these ideas to promote actions and policies that will result in a better quality of life for all Americans.
The Claude Pepper Foundation’s mission is primarily achieved through its creation and support of the Claude Pepper Center’s programs and operations at Florida State University and its identification of other areas of specific need to support initiatives that help accomplish its mission.
